Philadelphia police made nine arrests, busting an alleged prostitution ring that operated out of airport hotels in the city.

Police say they targeted the activity near the Philadelphia International Airport because it was leading to other crimes in the area, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News.

Philadelphia Housing Authority Executive Director Carl Greene announced today that he would be taking several weeks leave to get his personal affairs in order.

His decision comes following disclosure that he had fallen five months behind on his home mortgage payments and faced foreclosure proceedings.

A police officer was injured in violent encounter inside a South Philadelphia pharmacy late Tuesday afternoon, police said.
